Coastal Cafe
Choose from a wide variety of delicious menu items at our self-serve cafeteria-style restaurant, open throughout the day. Offering hearty breakfasts, burgers and entrées, fresh salads, delicious sandwiches and fresh pastries. White Spot burgers and entrées are featured for lunch and dinner on the following routes:

Why is BC Ferries adding alcoholic beverages to the menu in select Coastal Cafes?
We've heard from many passengers that they would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their meal while on board. Following the successful introduction of beer and wine in the Pacific Buffet, we are adding alcoholic beverages to the menu in select Coastal Cafes as a way to improve the customer experience.
Is there a service limit?
Yes, there is a two-drink limit per customer 19 years of age or older.
Can I buy just a drink?
Alcoholic beverages must be purchased with a meal.
How can I purchase an alcoholic beverage with my meal?
Upon entering the Coastal Cafe, customers 19 years of age or older with valid ID will have the option to purchase an alcoholic beverage with their meal. Alcohol sales will be available on sailings between 10:30 am and 11:30 pm, seven days a week.
How much does it cost to buy an alcoholic beverage on the ferry?
Prices range from $7.49 plus tax for a 12-ounce (355ml) glass of cider, $7.49 plus tax for a 12-ounce (355ml) refreshment beverage and $13.99 plus tax for an 8.5-ounce (250ml) glass of wine. A 12-ounce (355ml) glass of beer ranges from $6.99 plus tax to $7.99 plus tax.
Where can customers find the Coastal Cafes that serve alcoholic beverages?
BC beer, wine, cider and refreshment beverages will only be available in the Coastal Cafe on ferries travelling between:
Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay)
Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Nanaimo (Duke Point)
Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay)
Powell River (Westview) to Comox (Little River)
Can I take my beverage outside of the Coastal Cafe to enjoy in another area of the ferry?
Customers are not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages into the Coastal Cafe or any other areas of the ferry.
Do you have a service cut-off time?
The service cut-off time is 30 minutes before docking.
Are minors still permitted in the Coastal Cafe?
Minors are permitted to be in the Coastal Cafe, just like many restaurants that serve alcohol in BC.
Online food ordering no longer available
As of November 9th, online food ordering is no longer available.
We originally launched online food ordering as a trial on the Spirit of British Columbia and the Spirit of Vancouver Island with plans to evaluate if we should expand it to other ferries.
Customers may still purchase food in person from the cafeteria while on board the ship.
Why did we decide that this trial should end?
We expected online food ordering to improve our customers’ experience by reducing crowding and line-ups and for the cafeteria. Also, only a small number of customers per sailing used the system and so there wasn’t a significant change in the queues to the cafeteria.
Why not just keep the service running for those people who liked it?
The online order system complicates order fulfillment in the kitchen, so removing it will allow staff to focus on filling orders for customers ordering in person.
